Sometimes I can’t think of anything to work on. Inspiration ebbs low, and I find myself bouncing off the walls waiting to be struck by lightning. This piece was kind of the result of one of those nights. I was sitting around listening to music and zipping around social media like a hummingbird checking for refills when a couple of Joy Division tunes came on back to back.
That was what I was waiting for. I went straight to work painting Ian Curtis.
I like this piece, but at least one of my friends remarked that it was “freaky” and he didn’t like seeing it when it appeared in his social media feed. It didn’t get a lot of “likes” out there, either. I guess I was just pleasing myself that night.
